This enables you to search your documents on all of your computers, very handy if you use several computer.

You will need a Google Account to search across different machines which all need the Desktop on them. The search index is stored on Google's server so you might want to think about the privacy issues and check Google's privacy policy.

The desktop can be infinitely customised. It is bright and fun and much more relevant to the main screen of computers than most offerings by the operating systems.
