When is this the ebook revolution going to happen?
In 2010, esales by value it is still less than 10% even in the US. But some recent releases have sold as many eversions as print versions.
The growth will be exponential because newsprint and distribution is resource-intensive while eprintng and distribution is resource-lite.
Print and transport are increasing in cost at a rate that is well ahead of
inflation. (Paper rose about 20% in price during 2010)
If you couple the spread of reading devices (ebooks, tablet and smart phones)
to the lower supply costs for eproducts and you have the conditions for a
very rapid switch especially if there is an explosion of creativity. 2012 could be the year
when epublication took off.
